Did you know? 80% of all of the health care you’ll ever need you’ll receive locally. In Toronto’s west end, 500,000 people turn to St. Joseph’s Health Centre.

St. Joe’s needs support from the community because government funding doesn’t fully cover costs of building new spaces, modernizing facilities or buying new equipment.

This year, riders in Cycle 4 St. Joe’s will help support key priorities such as:

  • Improving the Emergency Department
  • Buying new equipment
  • Providing additional resources for Mental Health patients

EMERGENCY

St. Joseph’s Emergency Department receives over 100,000 visits annually, but was built to handle only 65,000 visits. Your support can help modernize the space to improve patient care.

EQUIPMENT

You’ll be helping us provide more advanced care by replacing or upgrading much needed equipment, for example:

  • new ultrasound machines for more accurate images and shorter waiting times for patients;
  • new ventilator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to help premature babies breathe;
  • state-of-the-art devices to monitor the hearts of cardiac patients as they go about everyday life.

MENTAL HEALTH

Thanks to donors, St. Joseph’s recently transformed our Mental Health Emergency Services Unit. We now have a state-of-the art facility for patients experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis. Your fundraising for Cycle, can help provide additional support and programs.

St. Joe's

Many people are surprised to learn that the government doesn’t pay for all of a hospital’s requirements. Donor support is needed to cover critical patient needs not funded by government.

Without support from donors, St. Joseph’s would not be able to provide the level of care that our neighbours require. We need support from you and our community to modernize and build new spaces, purchase new equipment and technology, and create specialized areas to meet the specific health care needs of our community.

Your Donations at Work

Donors have already accomplished so much. For example, donors funded the CIBC Just for Kids Clinic, the Bachir Yerex Family Dialysis Centre, and the Mental Health Emergency Services Unit. Several donor-funded spaces are under construction including the Lake House Palliative Care Centre and new Breast Cancer Treatment and Screening Centre.

When you need emergency care in Toronto’s west end, chances are you’ll come to St. Joe’s. St. Joseph’s Health Centre has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Toronto.

Every year, we receive over 100,000 emergency visits, but our Emergency Department was built to handle only 60,000. You can help St. Joe's modernize the Emergency Department so that patients receive care in a space that is more comfortable, private and safe from infections. Updating the Emergency Department is St. Joe's highest priority. But we need your help.
