Did you know that St. Joe's Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the province? Last year, our Emergency had over 100,000 visits with 10,800 of those emergency visits from people 65+, 19,000 by children, and 6,600 by people needing mental health and/or addiction care. With your help, we can create better spaces like a kid friendly emergency care, add more examination rooms, increase privacy, and purchase new equipment to provide timely care.
"When you have kids, you rely on having emergency care close-by, and the CIBC Just for Kids Clinic at St. Joe's is great for all those other times when you're just not sure what to do," says Joana. "My donation is in honour of the physicians and staff who always take great care of my son."
"She has a chronic condition and needs constant care, so she has been coming to St. Joe's every two weeks for the past five years. From Emergency to the ICU, to overnight stays, clinic visits and doctors' appointments, the care is always exceptional. It makes me proud to work here."
"He stopped breathing and a Code Pink was called right away," they recall. "Within seconds the room was flooded with a medical team who began resuscitating Hewitt. We can't describe the feeling when he started breathing again. They saved his life that day and it's why we're happy to support St. Joe's however we can."
Donate now and celebrate with us at our St. Joe's Promise Festival of Lights on Wednesday November 20th at 5 p.m. where we will light up St. Joe's to reflect the support of our west-end community.
