Welcome to My Personal Page
Sunday, September 22nd - Cycle 4 St. Joe's.
Every dollar we raise will be put to great use to build better spaces to care for our ever-growing community, ensure the physicians and health care teams have the best equipment and technology to diagnose and treat patients, and create specialized areas to care for those in our community with specific health needs.
The ride is extremely important to me as I’ve witness firsthand the amazing care that St. Joesph hospital provides.
My grandfather , Joseph J. Barnicke, was diagnosed with cancer when he was 12 years old and always remembered the great care he had at the hospital. He made a commitment to support St. Joe’s to the Sisters of St. Joseph and spent the rest of his life supporting the Health Centre. Both my grandfather (Joe) and father (Peter) sat on the board of the hospital throughout the decades and were apart of many campaigns to help fundraise for the hospital. My Dad took over this commitment for his Dad right up until his passing .
It was three years ago that St. Joe’s diagnosis my Dad with larynx cancer. While this news was terrible it was a blessing, as other institutions said there was nothing wrong. Had it not been for the doctors advocating for my Dad’s health we would never have discovered his cancer in its early stages.
I am riding in honour of my father and to support a hospital I believe in.
If you cannot join me please feel free to make a donation by clicking on the "Donate" bar. Your support is greatly needed and appreciated in improving patient and community health care.
Thank you,
JJ Barnicke
