Hi!
Thanks for visiting my page! On September 16 2014, I was involved in a severe bike accident riding to work, requiring 2 surgeries on my left shoulder at St. Joe’s hospital. This accident changed how I see myself and learned what it takes to receive good health care.
My family has been touched by cancer, I have lost my father and brother and my mom is a survivor, who is currently in rehab after recently suffering from a stroke. We all were, and are, very healthy people, but when you become ill that may not matter, it’s the care you receive that makes the biggest difference. Location also doesn’t matter, illness is never planned and you don’t know where you may be when you need the care. It’s important to recognize how great our healthcare in Canada is, but also what it isn’t and try to bridge that gap.
I participated in the Cycle 4 St. Joe's event for the past couple of years and really enjoyed the friendly ride with others and contributing to St. Joe's and the community that they support. This year I am once again on the committee and have ramped up my involvement by encouraging other riders I know to join me on Team Teranet with executive sponsorship. There are 10, 40 and 85 km distances to choose from, something for everyone. The team goal is to have 20 riders and raise $4,000 so I hope you will join us in supporting St. Joe’s.
If two wheels and a saddle are not your friend… please consider a donation to provide great care to those in Toronto’s west end; residents and all those passing through.
Thank you,
Ingrid
